Human Impact Project
Objective: Students will understand that human actions have an effect on the Earth’s ecosystems.
Introduction: There are several ways that human actions have negatively impacted the Earth’s ecosystems. Now it is your job to choose one issue to research. During your research you will describe how humans caused the problem and steps we can take to fix it!
Information to include:
1. Title
2. The problem you are addressing (ex. pollution, overfishing, habitat destruction)
3. What activities are humans doing to cause this problem? (Identify and explain a minimum of 2 activities humans do to cause this problem.)
4. Why is this bad for the Earth’s ecosystems? (minimum of 3 negative impacts)
5. What can humans do to fix this problem? (minimum of 2 solutions)
6. Works Cited: List of websites or books you used to gather information (minimum of at least one book source and at least one website)
Timeline:
Project Options:
1. Poem: create a poem, minimum of 6 stanzas
2. Rap/song: create a rap/ song with 3 versus and a chorus
3. PowerPoint: Create a PowerPoint with a minimum of 10 slides, 5 pictures
4. News Article: Act as a reporter providing information to a town, 3 paragraphs minimum and at least 5 related pictures
5. Poster
Suggested Topics: Air pollution, Land Pollution, Water pollution, Plastic pollution in water, Water Usage, Overfishing, Habitat Destruction, Deforestation, and Global Warming.
